Our story

From AsiaFest to your neighbourhood.

Shankala started with a simple feeling: we missed home. The egg waffles from a street-corner stall, curry fish balls on a skewer, a cup of milk tea on the way back from school. These were everyday tastes in Hong Kong, and we wanted to share them with our new home.

We started out at AsiaFest Edmonton, and the support from the community has kept us cooking. Every recipe is inspired by the real thing.
